DINCast: a hop efficient dynamic multicast infrastructure for P2P computing

چکیده
Efficient communications among computers participating in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) computing remains a problem when they are geographically distributed across multiple network domains. In this paper, we propose DINCast to support group communications required in P2P computing. DINCast is built on top of an existing P2P multicast tree and results in a hop efficient dynamic multicast infrastructure. We show that DINCast is able to reduce communications delay compared with the original tree-based multicast. DINCast is also advantageous since it can achieve load balance and data persistency. A Cluster-enhanced Fault Tolerant Peer-to-peer System
Over the Internet today, computing and communications environments are more complex and chaotic than classical distributed systems, lacking any centralized organization or hierarchical control. Peer-to-Peer network overlays provide a good substrate for creating large-scale data sharing, content distribution and application-level multicast applications. We present a fault-tolerant, cluster-enhan...
متن کاملA cross-layer approach for real-time multimedia streaming on wireless peer-to-peer ad hoc network
Peer-to-peer (P2P) live streaming over mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a state-of-theart technique for wireless multimedia applications, such as entertainments and disaster recovery. The peers share the live streaming over MANET via multi-hop wireless link, so an efficient data delivery scheme must be required. However, the high churn rate and the frequent mobility baffle the P2P membership ma...
متن کاملAn Efficient QOS Based Multimedia Content Distribution Mechanism in P2P Network
Peer-to-peer network is one in which each node in the network can act as a client or server for the other nodes in the network. It allows shared access to various resources such as files, peripherals, and sensors without the need for a central server. Content distribution in the P2P network from server is done by multicasting. Multicasting is the process of sending the data to the multiple desi...
متن کاملImplementing IPv6 as a Peer-to-Peer Overlay Network
This paper proposes to implement an IPv6 routing infrastructure as a self-organizing overlay network on top of the current IPv4 infrastructure. The overlay network builds upon a distributed IPv6 edge router with a master/slave architecture. We show how different slaves can be constructed to tunnel through NATs and firewalls, as well as to improve the robustness of the routing infrastructure and...
متن کاملOvercoming Last-Hop/First-Hop Problems in IP Multicast
Whereas much of the recent thrust in IP multicast standardization has focused on multicast routing and other supplementary infrastructure for multicast, the reach to/from end-systems from/to the multicast infrastructure constitutes a significant barrier in deploying any network layer multicast protocol. A basic problem arises from the fact that current IP multicast protocols have been designed ...
